Brian Turner interview

South Dakota poet Patrick Hicks has had an interview with Brian Turner, the acclaimed author of “Here, Bullet,” published in the Virginia Quarterly Review. Read it here.

Turner wrote the poems in “Here, Bullet” while he was with the Army in Iraq. It’s the most striking collection I’ve read in years. His subject matter has an immediate relevance that is rare in poetry. I highly recommend reading his work.

Hicks had the chance to talk with Turner when he read at Augustana College in Sioux Falls this spring, and the VQR review is the result.
